Margiela's collection this time round was clearly about making a statement. A statement that read 'Martin Margiela's 20th-anniversary collection'. I somehow found myself stuck between the models having no facial features to having hairy faces that in a way appeared as if they had their bodies back to front. But I needed not question further the inspiration and influences that drove a display of this nature, it was simply a celebration of Margiela's contributions to fashion over two decades and 40 collections revisting certain significant looks from previous collections with a savoury twist..For example, the circular-cut leather (2005) and especially Wigs—a favourite of the house since fall of 1995 and it's connection and relevance to now - fringing. Perhaps too much hair for my liking but an interesting collection overall, I was only left to wonder how the models could see let alone breath under those sock masks.
