LFW | TIMUR KIM SS/13
Timur Kim’s SS13 was inspired by his love of denim, presenting another lighter and softer collection with an ultra feminine feel giving off an impression of chilled-out glam. As we all know denim as one of the most frequently used fabrics applied in various ways to achieve certain looks but at the same time, denim is not always the most comfortable or functional of fabrics to wear. Timur Kim gave demin a whole new look and feel and interpretation was intelligent with different hues of blue denim patchwork design and embroided lace created in print. The silk used on the collection allowed the heavy-weight nature of denim to have the impression of a more fluent and light-weight luxurious fabric. All the denim used in Timur Kim’s collection came from recycled fabrics and Timur later-on expressed in a conversation after the show that the process started off with scanning the fabric samples in preparation to be arranged and printed on to pure silk - this in turn allows the fabric to flow better and increases it’s wearability while allowing it to still have that denim look.
