Long, lean lines have come to define this season's tailoring - and the key piece was the androgynous jacket. At DVF it was slouchy and monochromatic, worn with the sleeves rolled up; at Stella McCartney it was hard sharp shoulders and at Richard Nicole it was buttoned together with a brooch. A spring/summer essential and only you can wear it however you like it.
Hot hues were also big news on the catwalk this season from candy colours to eye popping neons. So the future of fashion is looking bright and I was inspired to rethink how to wear colour today. Some designers teamed bright shades such as pink or red with nude tones while others whipped all the colours of the rainbow into psychedelic patterns like I showed in a previous post of mine with the kaleidoscopic bubble mini-skirt. The catwalks were bursting with colour for spring/summer and this is just the right time to experiment and try new and different things. This season, I went for Topshop's Hot pink boyfriend blazer and the fantastic thing about it is that you can roll up the sleeves which transform into black giving the jacket a different look altogether. I actually prefer to having them rolled up because it gives the jacket an attitude. Hot pink - a very strong colour but one that you can do so much with. You'd think with a colour like this you can only go so far but nope, you can wear it with anything given the colour coordination's we were shown this season. 
For most of you, blazers are already a fixture in your wardrobe so why not enjoy them again this season and update your collection for summer with a loose jersey or linen style that evokes 80s glamour. A good investment as you will be able to wear it throughout the next winter.
