A/W09 SHOES: Prada

The studded mohawk heel

Amongst the many elaborate and gorgeous shoe designs that emerged on the catwalks for Autumn/Winter 09, these studded Prada mohawk sandals where one of the many that caught my eye. Especially in the image above from Prada's AW/09 Lookbook, they seem to have a 'Western inspiration' and sort-of remind me of a 'red-indian's hat or a Turkey's tail.

I really love these Prada heels with the studs and fringing around the ankle but I can't help but imagine that they would have looked a lot better if they had a platform base as that would have balanced out the proportion of the mohawk against the leg. However, I still think they are really hot and would look even cuter with a knee sock or tights on. FYI, Topshop also have their own interpretation of the shoe which I think are absolutely stunning and they are platform sandals as-well. Colours: copper and black and they are only £120 from Topshop Boutique.
