THE BROKEN HEARTS THREW A FANTASTIC SET AT THE RODNIK BAND

PHILIP COLBERT & HIS MODELS GOING FOR A MARCH ON THE STREETS OF LONDON - IT WAS QUITE A SPECTACLE!

The Rodnik Band's S/S12 Collection by Philip Colbert was a magnificent presentation of pieces that combined both pop art and fashion. The sea world-inspired SS/12 collection included plenty of amazing, very detailed and certainly eye-catching garments and a fashion statement wasn't the only influence behind Colbert's designs. This collection titled ‘Save the sea’ carried a somewhat "Political message"; with the models holding placards imprinted with statements such as 'Cod save the sea', 'We've haddock enough of this' and 'Pollocks to Poverty' - there was a bit of humor in there but it did send the message out which I thought was brilliant!

Though the clothing and presentation carried a fun and colorful vibe; a stronger inspiration stood tall behind it's direction. The bid to stop Pirate fishing which was pretty clear in the clothing that we saw. A fantastic collection I must say which definitely left a lot to desire for 2012 particularly the sailor inspired looks which are always a Spring treat - the next time I wear navy and white stripes I will always be brought back to this collection; the message has definitely made its mark leaving alot to consider about the many other ways we can pull together for the sake of our environment.
